State of Tech Talent 2026

Description

This annual session brings together government, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners to align on the current state of the tech workforce in Newfoundland and Labrador — and to identify where we need to focus next. This year, the discussion will centre on insights from our 2025 Talent Satisfaction Survey, alongside broader labour market trends impacting the sector. 

As talent continues to be one of the most critical factors influencing company growth, this session will provide a shared understanding of: 

1. Where talent challenges are most acute (e.g., senior talent gaps, retention pressures, evolving skill needs) 
2. How companies are experiencing the current labour market 
3. Where there are opportunities for coordinated action across industry, government, and partners

The goal of this session is not only to share insights, but to inform priorities and collective action that support the continued growth of the tech sector in the province. Your participation will help shape how we collectively address talent challenges across the sector in the year ahead.
